Asking help from their parents might be a way out, but problems are that some aging parents are not strong enough to take care of the kids, and that the kids may also become too spoiled by their grandparents.

Then, here comes a solution: families with kids can form a small group, and parents of each family can take turns to look after all the kids in this group on weekends. Thus, other parents can have some quiet time and feel free to do something they’ve been planning for a long time. At the same time, the kids can make new friends and won’t be hanging around their parents all day long. This is baby-pooling

43.Passage Four

Sometimes you’ll hear people say that you can’t love others until you love yourself. Sometimes you’ll hear people say that you can’t expect someone else to love you until you love yourself. Either way, you’ve got to love yourself first and this can be tricky. Sure we all know that we’re the apple of our parents’ eye, and that our grandmas think we are great talents and our uncle Roberts think that we will go to the Olympics, but sometimes it’s a lot harder to think such nice thoughts about ourselves. If you find that believing in yourself is a challenge, it is time you built a positive self-image and learnt to love yourself.

The self-image is your own mind’s picture of yourself. This image includes the way you look, the way you act, the way you talk and the way you think. Interestingly, our self-images are often quite different from the images others hold about us. Unfortunately, most of these images are more negative than they should be, and thus changing the way you think about yourself is the key to changing your self-image and your whole world.

The best way to defeat a passive self-image is to step back and decide to stress your successes. That is, make a list if you need to, but write down all of the great things you do every day. Don’t allow doubts to occur in it.

It very well might be that you are experiencing a negative self-image because you can’t move past one flaw or weakness that you see about yourself. Well, roll up your sleeves and make a change of it as your primary task. If you think you are silly because you aren’t good at math, find a tutor. If you think you are weak because you can’t run a mile, get to the track and practice. If you think you are dull because you don’t wear the latest trends, buy a few new clothes.

The best way to get rid of a negative self-image is to realize that your image is far from objective and to actively convince yourself of your positive qualities. Changing the way you think and working on those you need to improve will go a long way towards promoting a positive self-image. When you can pat yourself on the back, you’ll know you’re well on your way You need to build a positive self-image when you______() A.dare to challenge yourself B.feel it hard to change yourself C.are unconfident about yourself D.have a high opinion of yourself

【精析】A常用的倍数表达法是A+谓语+倍数+as+形容词或副词的原级+as+BA+谓语+倍数+形容词或副词的比较级+than+B和A+谓语+倍数+the size/length/width/height…of+B,表示A是B大/长/宽/高……的多少倍。分析四个选项可知,只有A项形式正确。故选A 5.A我已经有一片面包了,现在我要找把刀来切一下。 [考点]非谓语动词

[考点]强调句

【精析】B本题主要考查强调句型。强调句型的基本结构为It is/was+被强调部分+that从句,去掉It is/was…that句意仍清楚完整。when和while表示当……时,引导时间状语从句,本句中已有时间状语during the hour,故不选;before意为在……之前,引导时间状语从句,不符合句意。故选B 9.C

32.B本句侧重考查的是对而不是的翻译,表达的是一种排除关系。as well as和together with连接两个主语表并列关系,表示两者都……,不表排除关系。 另外,为……负责任应译为be responsible for。基于上述分析可知,四个选项中选项B的译文最贴近汉语句子原意 33.Your handwriting is too vague for me to recognize 34.C[考点]事实细节题
