摘要：The alkoxidation products of alkylphenols and fatty alcohols with alkyleneoxides prepared by known processes have high alkylene oxide and 1,4-dioxane contents.This is undesired from possible toxicological points of view. The novel process should nothave these disadvantages. For this purpose, a process is proposed in which the fattyalcoholates obtained in the alkoxidation by direct reaction of alkali metal hydroxide withfatty alcohols are used as catalysts. The products prepared by this process have residualcontents of alkylene oxide of below 1 ppm and 1,4-dioxane of below 3 ppm.
