摘要：A pulsed signal (200) modulates the signal from the transmitter (22) of anelectronic detector so that the detection signal is constituted by a signal (201) having thefrequency of the pulse signal (200) when no obstacle is found in the field of detection andthat it is constituted by a signal (202) having the frequency of the receiver (23) when an

obstacle is found in the field of detection. The pulsed signal thus transits the whole ofthe detection chain and permanently surveys the operational state of the detection chain,automatically detecting any breakdown which comes to affect the operation and makingit possible for the detector to react immediately in an appropriate and reliable way.
