At first blush, this argument appears to be somewhat cogent, but further reflection from the logical perspective reveals that it omits some crucial concerns, which renders it problematic in several critical respects.

The study amounts to scant evidence of the speaker's implicit conclusion that……

The author’s assertion that…is still unwarranted, in N respects.

The author fails to provide adequate evidence that…

The argument assumes too hastily that

This \"either-or\" argument is fallacious in that it ignores other possible causes of…

It is thus highly possible that the figure d in the study is a mere aberration.

Granted that this gratuitous assumption is true,

Besides, the memo provides no information about what percentage of 调查对象 responded to the surveys; the lower the percentages, the less dependable the results of the surveys.

The professor's dual claims about something--that …and that …--might very well be mutually exclusive alternatives.

The mere fact that…does not perforce mean that…--as the speaker assumes.

However, in all likelihood this is simply not the case. Perhaps…Or perhaps…

The speaker overlooks the possibility that…

the restriction plan has been in use for only a month, which is too short a span of time to reveal any underlying fallacy.

Without considering and ruling out this possibility the speaker cannot convince me that…

In a word, without providing more information to prove the credibility of the study, the author cannot rely on it to support his claim.

Unless the speaker can rule out these and other possible explanations for something, I cannot accept the further assertion that…

Without evidence of the survey's reliability, it is impossible to draw any firm conclusions about…

To begin with, the first survey conducted with the students of GC is open to question. Since the author does not provide any details about this survey, it is thus reasonable to suspect that the survey is invalid. For example, how many students have participated in this survey? If there are 2000 students in GC but only 50 were surveyed, it is unlikely that these 50 students' opinions typify the preferences of all the students. Also, was a respondent randomly selected? If the survey was only accessible to those opposed to the idea of coeducation, it is highly possible that the opposite view points were chosen to be omitted by the student government. Moreover, how was the survey conducted? If the questions were leading and biased, or if the responses were not anonymous, the respondents might not be veracious with their answers. Therefore, without providing explanations to the doubts listed above, the first survey cited could lend no support to the author's conclusion.

Finally, the author draws a presumptuous conclusion that GTGC will profit by the proposed method. Yet common sense informs me that profit is a factor relating to not only revenue, but also cost. Even assuming that consumers are tent to grow their own vegetables and will buy a lot of seeds, it is entirely possible that the cost of the additional seeds or the cost associated with the storage of the additional seeds will offset, even outweigh the revenue. Besides, a myriad of other unexpected occurrences, such as the unfavorable economic depression, might prevent expanding the storage of vegetable seeds as profitable as the author predicts.

Finally, the argument rests on the assumption that the proposed method cannot be replaced by some other program instead--one that would be even more effective in doing something. Perhaps…; or perhaps…Without identifying and weighing such alternatives, the author cannot defend the conclusion that……

In sum, the argument/editorial relies on a potentially weak analogy/study/research as well as on a series of gratuitous hypotheses, and is therefore indefensible as it stands.

To bolster its recommendation the administration must provide better evidence--perhaps by way of……

Finally, to better evaluate the argument we would need more information about possible alternatives to the proposal, and whether any such alternatives would be more effective in doing something.

To better assess the argument, I would need a detailed cost-benefit analysis that accounts not only for gains in productivity but also for the possible impact of (something may cost)… 79-86
