摘要：A composition formed from Group II fluorides in which the composition haslittle or no intrinsic birefringence at a selected wavelength. The composition is a mixed
solid solution of CaFwith a second crystal of SrFor BaF. The resulting composition is in theform of CaSrFor CaBaF, or a combination of SrFand BaF, in the form of CaSrBaF. Thespecific form of the composition that effectively nulls out the intrinsic birefringence at aselected wavelength within the UV range is determined in one preferred method fromthe magnitudes of the intrinsic birefringences of the components, CaF, SrF, and BaF.
