简爱读书报告读后感

Recently, I finished reading Jane Eyre，a book which is written by Charlotte Bronte ( 1816 － 1855) ，is one of the greatest works in English literature．

First of all, I had learnt something about the author .Charlotte Bronte, an English writer, was a great critical realist in the 19th century. Charlotte’s father was a poor reverend in her hometown, and her mother was a quite housewife. She had four sisters and a younger brother, and she was the third of them. She wrote lots of novels in her life. But I think Jane Eyre is the most popular one.

In my eyes, Charlotte Bronte is a write who struggled continuously for freedom, independence and equality. Let’s through the plot together:

It is about a girl’s process of growth and struggle． Her

name is Jane Eyre．Jane’s life is filled with pain and suffering. When she was a little girl she had to live with her ugly aunt because his parents has been dead. Her aunt very hates her, so Jane’s youth is filled of black memory in the Gateshead. Then she was sent into the school and her life has a new beginning. She make new friends and don’t need to stand her aunt，but when her new friend leaved her, she choose live her school to become

a teacher. Then Jane met Mr. Rochester Tornfield. Jane not only finds respect, love, friends and money, but also develops a strong relationship with the cold and bad-tempered master, Mr. Rochester. They fell in love with each other. Shortly, they decide to get married. On the day of the wedding, Jane finds out that the woman who always makes weird laughter at night is Mr. Rochester’s wife, a mad woman who living on the top of the tower. So she decides to leave him although he desperately begs her to stay.

Then she leaved Thorn field and met Another man—

St． John who wanted to marry to Jane just for his religious cause． Shocked by his attitude toward love，she felt the preciousness of true love，and also her independent spirit can’t leave her to live for another one． Her love to life within her deep heart made her decision to return to Thornfield to find her love． She seems to hear the call of Mr. Rochester: “Jane, please come back!” She feels worried and returns to Thornfield, because her heart is still stay there. Luckily, at last, the loving couple gets married. After two years, one eye of Mr. Rochester heals and then he sees their first child. Jane and Mr. Rochester, who have struggled so much for love and a new life, have finally found a place in the world.

By enjoying this novel, I see some soft and beautiful. And I like the Classic lines what Jane said to Mr. Rochester ：\"Do you think I can stay to become nothing to you? Do you think I am an automaton?--a machine without feelings? And can bear to have my morsel of bread snatched from my lips, and my drop of living water dashed from my cup? Do you think, because I am poor, obscure, plain, and little, I am soulless and heartless? You think wrong!--I have as much soul as you,--and full as much heart! And if God had gifted me with some beauty and much wealth, I should have made it as hard for you to leave me, as it is now for me to leave you. I am not talking to you now through the medium of custom, conventionalities, nor even of mortal flesh. It is my spirit that addresses your spirit; just as if both had passed through the grave, and we stood at God’s feet, equal,--as we are!\" it’s so beautiful, Jane is a girl who will never lose confidence in life and always sensible when handling with some motional problems. Jane was huge in my heart. She can control her life and fate. She knew how to continue her life and she got it! Maybe after what she told me I have known that what love is and how to love and to be loved! The book is a book worth of reading, so all in all let’s enjoy it! “

According to this novel, we can note that Jane is one of

the greatest romantic heroines of world literature. Jane is a poor but aspiring, small in body but huge in soul girl. no matter what Jane met, no matter where she was, she always rebelled against that unfair society. She never gave up trying her best to seek the freedom and true love. “Do you think, because I am poor, obscure, plain, and little, I am soulless and heartless? You think wrong!” This is the idea of equality in Jane’s mind.

God hadn’t given Jane beauty and wealth, but instead,

God gave her a kind mind and a thinking brain. Her idea of equality and self-respect impress us so much and let us feel the power inside her body.

As for us, we know that life isn’t all right. It’s our

spirit that makes the life meaningful. we should learn from this novel that as a person we should seek freedom and our own rights like what Jane Eyre do .to be brave and positive to face our future! Do not give up the chance of getting closed to your dream! Just believe yourself and you will do it!

Jane Eyre is really a significant novel for us to read. That’s all for my report.
