摘要：An interactive computer system is provided having a programming environmentin which an end user of one or more existing applications, for example, integratedenvironment applications, can customize it or them with a unique user interface
appearance. The environment consists of one application or a group of applications, acustomization facility and a graphical editor. The customization facility records eventstream from the user to the application(s) when it (they) runs, and enables him/her tocompose a plurality of event streams into a story. The user generates a unique userinterface appearance with graphical parts, for example, boxes, arrows, icons, etc., usingthe graphical editor. He/she then links appearance to event streams or stories, andcompletes a programming mode. After programming, the user can make the customizedapplication run by interaction with the new user interface appearance, for examplepicking the graphical objects on the appearance.
