are linked up with a decentralized distribution device (DSLAM, VERT) having severalsubscriber connections (TA), whereby at least one of the connections (vcc. . . n) can beselected using the distribution device (VERT), individually per subscriber connection, andmultiple destination data (tv. . . n) transmitted by way of the selected connection (vcc. . . n)is sent to the respective subscriber connection (TA). Several additional connections (bcc. . .k) to a retrieval device (VOD), which makes the retrievable data (mov. . . z) available, arelinked up to the distribution device (DSLAM, VERT). For each subscriber connection, atleast one additional connection (bcc. . . k) is selected. After selection of the additionalconnection (bcc. . . k), at least part of the retrievable data (mov. . . k) is requested perindividual subscriber connection, whereby the requested part of the retrievable data(mov. . . z) is sent from the retrieval device (VOD) to the requesting subscriber connection(TA) by way of the selected connection (bcc. . . k) and the distribution device (DSLAM,VERT). It is advantageous that the transmission resources available on the subscriber sidecan be assigned as needed, regardless of the type of service currently being requested,and can subsequently be released again.
